Crossfit is the first gym I have ever joined, and I can easily say that it has changed the way I view exercise and nutrition.
Having lived a mostly sedentary lifestyle, and having no previous gym experience I was nervous and anxious about my own abilities. From the very first introduction day the coaches did nothing but encourage me, helping me to develop at my own pace. The friendly atmosphere within the gym from the other people kept me motivated and feeling like I was capable of improving my fitness.
One of the great things about Ronin Crossfit is that it is not just a place that you turn up and exercise, it is about development. The coaches ran a 30 day Paleo challenge and encouraged me to take part. There was a big gang of us taking part and everyone helped each other by sharing recipes and websites. By the help of the crossfit community I have completely changed the way I view food, I have lost 2 stone in 6 months and feel fantastic.
In the past 6 months I have changed my diet, run a 5k race and as I write this I am preparing for a 10k trail race. I never expected to reach the level of fitness that I have in such a short time. A huge amount of credit must go to the supportive, fun environment created by the people who run and workout in Ronin CrossFit.

After years of low calorie dieting and constant cardio in my gym, with little success, I was desperate for something different, and although sceptical (I just didn’t understand how I could get fitter by training for a shorter time), I turned up.
Having never been part of a team before the atmosphere was new to me and I realised then that Crossfit was like nothing else out there. The sense of community and support that it gives is just as important as the workouts we do.
Through educating myself on the paleo diet many crossfitters follow, I can honestly say I feel better than I ever have. Now for the first time in my life I’m not concerned about the number on the scales, but the number I can deadlift, push press and overhead squat. The amazing drive and energy of our instructors is contagious, they follow their own example and practice what they preach, and it means for the first time in my life I look forward to working out rather than seeing it as a chore. Crossfit is tough, challenging, rewarding, ever-changing, exhilarating, fun-and I love it!

I just wanted to say thanks so much for everything at Ronin CrossFit. The workouts were always great and the people truly welcoming.
Thanks very much for everything though, and can I also say that Ronin CrossFit is definitely the friendliest CrossFit I’ve ever been to!

So I started Crossfit about a year ago, coming from a martial arts background I felt that I had a good level of fitness-I was wrong!
I found the first workout exceptionally tough – new movements, new standards, it was obvious that this was going to be very challenging. From that very first day I received nothing but positive encouragement and guidance, both from the coaches and the other members of the gym. Within a couple of months, I saw my fitness levels go through the roof and in conjunction with Paleo nutrition, I was two stone down and had never felt better!
Additionally, over the past year i’ve developed a much better understanding of my own strengths and weaknesses and I’m doing things that I never thought would be possible for me to do.
I love Ronin Crossfit – great programming, great coaching and most importantly-great people and I can’t recommend it highly enough.
